Only at the final Mastering stage is the 32-Bit signal converted to the standard audio CD format, via the indemand high-quality dither algorithm: POW-r (Psychoacoustically Optimized Wordlength Reduction), from the development team of the 'POW-R Consortium LLC'. WaveBurner Pro allows you to work with the audio file in its original bit depth, with all processing done at an internal resolution of 32 Bit. This unique ability is in contrast to many other programs that import this format, but then convert to 16 Bit. Given the ever-growing popularity of High Definition Audio, 24-Bit/96kHz format files are natively supported within WaveBurner Pro. As an example, remove undesirable noise artifacts from cassette or vinyl recordings without destroying the top or bottom end of an audio file. These superb plug-ins can be used in endlessly creative ways, and offer the precision required for the most critical of mastering tasks. Fat EQ, compressor/limiter, multi-band compressor and audio restoration tools. Several key mastering plug-ins ship with WaveBurner Pro e.g. Selected Emagic plug-ins from the Logic Series are included, along with support for VST compliant plug-ins and Direct Show plug-ins. Any number of plug-ins can be serially inserted, with effects possibilities directly related to the amount of host processing resources available. Plug-ins can be applied to individual regions, as well as to the final mix. Thanks to comprehensive plug-in support, audio material can be further refined and processsed in WaveBurner Pro. WaveBurner Pro allows the fast and intuitive creation of tracks, including non-destructive editing of regions and crossfades, plus the creation of break, track and index markers. Since some projects don't need/can't afford/couldn't justify hiring a professional mastering engineer, it can sometimes be a great idea to have a friend of yours master a mix for you (even though your friend might have exactly the same gear that you have).WaveBurner Pro - Emagic's professional Red Book audio-CD mastering and burning software - is now available for the Windows platform. I am not a mastering engineer either by any means, but I've done what I could to make the mix more "punchy" without distorting too much.Īlso, naireko brought up an interesting point: one of the idea behind mastering is to bring someone fresh on the project, with fresh ears. I have used them on another song, that you can find on my mp3.com page, called "I used to think I knew it all". The latest song that I presented in my other thread has not been mastered yet, it is just a rough mix realized in Logic Audio. Two great plug-ins in Emagic's "mastering suite" are the Multipressor (2 to 4 bands multiband compressor) and the Adaptive limiter. I have never used a Wave plug-in in my life so I can't compare either. I have never used Waveburner, however, it comes with the same "mastering suite plug-ins that come with Logic 5, so I can comment on those plug-ins. I don't know anything about the finalizer, therefore I cannot compare it to the Emagic products. Now that this point has been made, we can move on and discuss "mastering tool" that can help you optimize the level and tonal balance of your mix. Lcouri, like others mentioned, neither a finalizer nor Waveburner (or Logic Audio) will transform you into an overnight mastering engineer.
